Before I picked up a camera professionally, I spent years pouring my heart into working with children and families for almost 2 decades. First, as a youth worker in group homes, and then a home daycare provider, and an early childhood educator with the school board. Those experiences shaped who I am and gave me something I treasure: a deep ability to connect, especially with kids. (Most of them ask when we can do it again before the session even ends!)

I believe connection is everything and I carry that belief into every photo I take. To me, photography isn’t about the perfect pose in matching outfits. It’s about capturing the love, laughter, and real-life magic that make your family yours. The kind of photos you don’t just look at but you feel.

I’ve lived through great joy and great loss, and both have shaped me in profound ways. In 2010, I lost my sister to cancer. In 2019, we lost my dad to the same illness. Two heartbreaks that changed everything and deepened my understanding of how fragile and precious life really is. I know, personally, how important it is to have something to hold on to when the people we love are no longer here. That’s why I do what I do. I don’t just want to take your photo, I want to freeze a feeling, preserve a connection, and give you something that will mean more with each passing year.

I’m also a believer in the magic of the universe because sometimes life leads you to places you never expected. Like the time I found my brother on Kijiji (yes, really—ask me about it, it’s a story that’s never left anyone dry-eyed).

People often tell me I have saint-like patience. Maybe it’s all those years with little ones… or maybe it’s just who I am. Either way, I’m here to make you feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated.
